Helping feed families in our community is simple:
1. Load up!
Check out the list of items our partners have asked for, and shop your pantry or grocery store to donate as much as possible.
2. Drive up!
Drive to Browns Bridge Church on Sunday, February 21 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. and follow the signs to drop off your donations to our staff.
We will also be collecting anytime after 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 21 through Thursday, February 25. There will be signage to tell you where to go and in which box to drop your donation.
Boxes will be labeled by last name and type of item so you can drop your donation with minimal contact. Your donation will go straight to the people who need it most.
4. Give Now! If you aren't able to drop off food, consider giving financially so The Place of Forysth can purchase perishable items such as fresh produce, milk, meat, and other most needed items.
About The Place at Forsyth
Food items collected will be sorted and delivered to The Place of Forsyth. This organization supports families in need in Forsyth and Dawson counties that are experiencing food and financial insecurity. The Place also helps people become self-sufficient through workforce development programs and other services.
They are currently feeding about 275 households, or more than 900 people, each week. They distribute about 550 bags of food that provide more than 1,850 meals each week. In 2020, The Place served more than 960 new households, mainly due to the effects of COVID-19.
